Lancaster defined...

  • Inability to change or accept the reality that you must change in order to thrive.
  • Total dependence on the foresight of other cities to plan future growth and economic policy.
  • Egregious use of power to promote ones self over the interest of the city as a whole.
  • Blind trust of known liars due to a lack of vision pertaining to the future growth of the city.
  • Almost dillusional loyalty to a superintendent that would rather eat dirt than admit his mismanagment of past funds has rendered him unable get another bond election passed.
( I'm waiting on the LISD garage sale to raise funds for future growth. Larry, are you selling any of the fixtures in your office, I hear they're really nice! )

  • Nursing a hope that some business somewhere will actually bring employees that might want to build a nice home in an area with increased crime, decreased test scores, increased taxes, and decreased infrastucture maintenance. After all, I know if I built a million dollar home, I'd love to drive my Mercedes over the four-wheel drive test track you call Pleasant Run and shop at the only grocery store in town. Of course I'd want to do it during that sweet spot in the day when I wouldn't be carjacked, between 10AM and 1:30PM.
